​My story is probably unlike the others that you have read so far because Crystal and I share a similar health and fitness background, and yet, coaching with her is one of my smartest health decisions yet.
A couple years ago, we were both personal trainers and living a holistic lifestyle the best we knew how. In fact, I sat in front of Crystal in level 1 of the CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coaching course and was able to share with her my astonishment regarding the content we were learning. You see, I had been doing it all wrong!
Without realizing it, I had been harnessing negative energy, which was perpetuating the very aspects of my life that I was trying to change. I had become obsessive and closed-minded over my diet and exercise. I felt unhappy, unfulfilled and did not know why.
To make matters worse, I had been encouraging all of my clients to follow in my footsteps, because you don’t know what you don’t know, right? I was only capable of getting my clients as far as I myself am.
This is one of the first things that I came to appreciate about Crystal. From the beginning of our training, she spoke openly of her goals and her challenges. She told me that she would only recommend something to me that she herself had tried and found successful.
What led me to coaching with Crystal initially was her uncritical nature and positive energy. She is the type of person you are drawn to, someone who provides you with more energy, rather than draining yours. I feel at ease discussing the trauma of my childhood and the lack I feel within my life. I feel no shame in revealing my poor dietary decisions and lack of exercise, which is extremely uncommon for me.
As a personal trainer myself, I was often placed on perfection pedestals by clients. I became obsessed with how others saw me and fought to keep myself upon those pedestals. While it may seem simple, Crystal inspired a revelation within our very first session. That I can be admired while being authentic. That I love my role models in spite of their flaws, and that I would rather been seen for who I am, than be loved for who I am not.
​Crystal has not only provided me with the motivation and accountability needed to apply the knowledge I already have to my life; she has also taught me so much more specifics regarding my health and wellness. Rather than telling me what to do, she makes me feel like a part of the discovery. We spend time discussing and determining what in my life is unbalanced, what area needs more care and attention. Allowing me to fully understand the why behind a lifestyle change helps me to make those changes successful.
And so, I leave each session with homework, whether it is something to do, not do or something to focus upon within myself. I feel more gratitude each week with how my mindset has shifted, the changes that used to be challenging no longer are and how I am clearing a fog that I never knew was there. I see my life and my goals more clearly, simply. I am developing health practices that I have never had before (spirituality for example).
The most useful tool that I have gained is the ability to make decisions from the perspective of the person I want to become, rather than the person that I currently am. Being and doing are prerequisites for having!
I highly recommend working with Crystal whether your goals are big or small, whether they are related to weight loss or emotional baggage. All goals are important and Crystal is a leader of light.
I feel like I have just begun this journey with Crystal and I can not wait to see what trail my life will follow when she is my guide!

​I met Crystal at the start of the summer hoping to make a lifestyle change for the better. I had an appointment setup with her through a local gym and I came into the meeting not knowing anything about her or about fitness at all. Since the very first day that we met – when she began with a fitness assessment and a benchmark of measuring some body proportions – she has acted in a professional and courteous manner and greeted me with a smile every time.
She asked me for my goals and expectations coming into the program and inquired about my existing lifestyle. She really did provide a holistic coaching experience when she went on to discuss not only aspects of my body and exercise but also how well I was sleeping, eating, and feeling. Finding that I was a clean slate and that there was lots of room for improvement, she was gentle in suggesting changes.
Whether it was recommending a higher quality and quantity of sleep, pointing out lacking areas of my diet, and/or maintaining proper form for exercises, she was always kind and encouraging and made sure to provide lots of positive feedback and constructive criticism. She strongly emphasized the importance of building a proper foundation for exercising and approaching exercise with a practical mindset because it’s vital to be ‘doing it right’ and ‘doing it for the right reasons’.
Over the summer, she created multiple, customized exercise circuits for me while considering my initial goals. She took feedback from me on every exercise of every circuit and made changes whenever I wasn’t comfortable with something. We communicated in person and even through email where she sent me lots of supplementary information and provided clarification on questions I had. By the end of the summer I could see and feel the improvements in my body and those were quantified by comparing measurements before and after the summer.
I can say that my experience with her has been far better than I even hoped to have and I’m glad that Crystal was the one to introduce me to everything that I’ve learned so far. She’s been a fantastic coach and a great support. I highly recommend that you give her a chance to show you what she can offer!

​I came to Crystal seeking a shift in my life, and not having a clear picture where to start. The fun thing is I never know what to expect when I see Crystal, each work out is different from the last and I never know what to expect, so it is never boring. I think she knows my body now better than I do as sometimes she sets me exercises and I think “you’re crazy, I can’t do that”, but then I always seem to manage it. My flexibility has improved, as has my endurance and now I can actually see muscles in areas that I don’t think I ever have before.
​I actually look forward to my workouts and I never thought I would ever say that. Crystal has this amazing personality that brings out the best in me and makes me want to do better for me and for her. Plus, somehow, we always have a laugh while she makes me sweat like crazy.
